Farkas ended up taking his son in his arms and snuggling him.
“You know, it would be better for me if you answered my questions with more words” he chuckled.
Brienne clicked her tongue, smiling slightly.
“Sorry, sweetheart. Tummy’s giving me a fit this morning. Not a fan of revisiting my breakfast… I’ll go start packing our things.”
He stood in front of her, blocking her way. “I said I was going to do it” he smiled before kissing her forehead and putting Alek in her arms. “And I also have to put on my armor.”
He smiled and took her other hand, guiding it over to the little girl’s chest. “This is Wren” he told her. He always tied a red or pink bow around her tiny head, it was the only way to tell her apart from her brother. He moved her hand to the other baby. “And this is Jergen.”
“Wren and Jergen,” she smiled, leaning against him a little, “They’re wonderful. Cutest little things I’ve ever seen.” She moved the blanket a little closer around them to keep them warm and poken Wren’s bow gently. They really were identical.
He let out a content sigh and wrapped an arm around her, glad to have her close again. “They look a lot like you.”
Farkas entered the room and set Lyra on the floor before running his fingers through Alek’s hair. “Should I go pack up?” he asked Brienne.
“I think it would be best,” she murmured, gently laying him back in the crib and sitting in the rocking chair, hugging Lyra close.
He smiled at the two girls and tickled Alek’s belly.
“How long are we going to be out? The ruin isn’t very far away. Are two days enough?”
Alek gave a squeal, babbling happily when Daddy tickled his belly.
“Probably should be,” she said, kissing Lyra’s head before gently setting her on the floor and rising.
Farkas ended up taking his son in his arms and snuggling him.
“You know, it would be better for me if you answered my questions with more words” he chuckled.
